Dang, i wish i was a recruit at BMTC school 2. A trip down to our beloved Pulau Tekong today to send Eugene, Chia How, Isky (i hope he's in Whisky, or better still, Charlie. heh.) off to National Slavery truly impressed me. Here's why:
1. They have friggin' nice facilities. And i mean they are NICE. Really. Looks like a chalet or some ulu Holiday Inn or something.
2. Bunks are clean, fair-sized bed with a SPRING MATTRESS (heck, its better than MY bed) and a whole gigantic cupboard (which is taller than you) all to yourself!
3. A nice chill out Students' Centre-like place for every company. Air-conditioned, sofas, carrom, guitars, you know the drill. But we were discussing that they probably wont have much time to enjoy it anyway.
4. A damn funny Commanding Officer! He cant speak well for nuts (but neither can anyone on the whole island anyway) but he's such a gas. On explaining when the enlistees would be allowed to book out, he went "ah see? Arent you happy? If you're happy you should clap your hair! But you have no hair!!" Georgi sitting next to me was laughing like crazy.
5. Georgi was also laughing at their oath. "I, (state full name), NRIC number (state i/c number)..." Whenever they came to the parts in brackets, they all said different things and it somehow sounded hilarious. See what a funny place it is? Haha
6. Stupid lucky enlistees get let off on TUESDAY! Tuesday! And they have a holiday till Sunday evening!! Gosh that's like 5 days! sheesh, and they only have to stay in camp for like 6 days till they get let out: lucky asses. I've had boy scout camps which lasted longer than that. Grr.
7. Really a lot of SA people enlisting together. Eugene and Jaime are buddies! Gosh how lucky can they get? And Chia How and Eziekel are in the same section too. Dang, if we're gonna suffer, i cant think of a better bunch of people to suffer with other than your very own fellow Saints. (Ok, so it'll also be cool to suffer with Denise Richards, Fiona Xie, J Lo.. but that's not the point)
8. Food's pretty good. Not exactly Star Cruise, but its edible. (for the "showpiece meal" today for visitors, we had fish and chips and rice, with ice cream. Gosh. And cranberry juice.)
9. Sleeping hours are pretty decent.. 10.30 to 5.45. With such a comfy bed too. -sigh-
Dammit la, Hendon Camp is such a dump. Hope i pass my Pilot test. The lady was hinting that if i do well they could possibly "get me out". Hope hope!
My test's this Saturday at 8.15. Heard its a killer. Stress sia.
